Abuse

This is my final piece i did for my Art GCSE exam on the topic of conflict. I chose to do child abuse.

There's a lot of symbolic meaning in the piece. I drew the young girl in a cell to show how she is a victim trapped in her life of abuse. She has a black eye and looks like she is wasting away showing her destruction. the hanging teddy bear is a represetation of her childhood which has been damaged and taken from her. The dying flower in her hand is her lifeline and the receding candle represents hope. The eyes displayed behind the prisoner bars is the threat, in this case the threat being the abuser which haunts her life. The scissors which is part of the wire meshing and also where the bear is hanging from shows that if helped she will be released from her prison and be able to regain her childhood and life before its too late.
